Good Bye .. ARL. (My First Loss) & lessons I Learnt.

I purchased arvind remedies limited after it slided down to Rs. 26 from 63 in a span of 40-45 days. The main reason for the downfall was funding issues; company was facing working capital issues and a lockout at its plant.

Should We Avoid Our Biases?

This is just something that I've been thinking about: Should we avoid our biases? I guess this applies as much to investing as it does in real life so I'm going to share some of my thoughts on it. It's sort of an extension from Biases to Look Out For When Investing .

Why People Lie

This post is not created by me, but i came across while surfing on the internet.

I consider it a well researched masterpiece... Here it is

Experiance Never Gets Old...

Yup, Monday afternoons are my movie concession watching days.

You know what? This movie by Robert De Nero and Anne Hathaway was surprisingly good!

Volkswagen : Pure Greed

The story is out already a few days, here is a good summary: "The who, what and why of Volkswagen’s diesel scandal".
One snippet: "In the past, Europe has been quite loose on its regulations, resulting in around one-third of European cars running on diesel, however it’s also the reason why big cities such as Paris and London have smog problems. In fact, almost 29,000 people die each year in the UK due to air pollution.

Biases to Look Out for When Investing

I find it interesting how we can be affected by own personal biases during investing. Most of these biases have been observed in studies, yet most of us are still not aware that we suffer from them and believe that we are objective in our view and analysis of our investment, which can be a very costly mistake.

Are you an Investor or Speculator?? Judge Yourself !!

There's a fine line that we have to thread between investor and trader, so I think that's important to know on roughly which side of the line we are staying on. As we have come to know, investing is something that brings about good returns in the long run while speculating focuses on short-term gains and bears a much higher risk of losing principle. Anyway, so in this post I'll be covering the differences between the two.

Wealth Creator :Narmada Gelatines ltd.

Narmada Gelatines Ltd., formerly known as Shaw Wallace Gelatines was incorporated on 13Jan1961 as Leiner-Knit Gelatin Company. In 1978, the original promoter P Leiner & Sons fully divested in favour of Shah Wallace & Company and the name was changed to the Shaw Wallance Gelatines. In 1994-95, the company made a breakthrough in exports of gelatine of pharmaceutical grade to developed countries, and edible grade to Japan and the Netherlands.

Annual Reports.... are YOU Reading ??

If you are a believer of the Fundamental Analysis, like myself, I am sure the company's Annual Reports are your regular reading materials. I must say that at the beginning, the usually thick Annual Report looks quite intimidating, but after reading through a couple of them, you will get the hang of it and know which are the section to focus and which are the section to ignore. Unlike reading a novel, there is no need to read the Annual Report from front to end, unless you are paid to do so or really, really, really like to read the Annual Reports (like Warren Buffett).

Fundamentals of a winning investor: Knowing oneself

As Warren Buffett says, everyone should learn financial knowledge since young. If you have savings but not involved in any form of investments, you need to find out the reasons. Are you sceptical that investments can help grow your wealth? You do not know how and what to invest in? Are you worried of losing money? Or did you have bad experiences in the past which is causing you to shy away from investing?
I strongly feel you need to know YOUR reason, clear the obstacles and move on.

Building A Watchlist ....

As you know, I have been investing for a long time and have gained experience with many of  my trades and investments in the market, but I would like to share how I built up my watchlist of around 34 companies which I follow.

So to start off, I look at the NSE Nifty, the blue-chips in India. I personally am not the most supportive of banks. Banks because I think that they're earnings are hard to gauge and that there's no real bottom when they start to fall, so I'll look at them only during depressions to see how they fare.

Investment Timings, Market Revival & Common Sense …

With Recent turmoil in world markets and our Indian market, all thanks to china… the Indian equities have started to look far much cheaper than they used to be…

Many a people I see are busy discussing about the time when turnaround happens in markets, so they can time the market. Different people have different theories… but not many I found have applied common sense (ironically it is not so common to have common sense prevailing) in investing. I guarantee not the biggest investment gurus have the ability to time the market with perfection.so make sure you can never time the market.

Gold Prices descending… Will you invest???

Before I start I have to admit that Gold in particular is the most liquid instrument for investment. You can easily sell and get money even at midnight hours. And I respect such status of gold. We Indians love gold, and it holds the most basic form of investment which is even used by a lay man.

Why Equity is necessary for Wealth creation in long run??

I know u must have heard 1000 times the importance of equity investment as a vehicle for wealth. But do you know why so many people are inclined to one thought??Or have a same view point??

Let’s clear our heads... Finally i have decided to support my claim with Data.

First Things first, it took me one whole month to get various data from various sources… but as they say: where there’s a will, there’s a way.

One Stock and Movie I Determined To Get/Watch in September 2015

Time really fly, didn't realize that my actions in the stock market have already completed a decade. Also, due to my busier work schedule, I have watched fewer movies in the past few weeks/months; my last movie is Mission Impossible 5

China's Black Monday has sparked the global market tumbling (or so the report says). It is truly nerve wrecking to watch the crimson tides across the board, from Dow Jones to NSE & BSE

Wealth is Investing money in various products which provide returns that can beat inflation in long run.
